Javelin Supports Local Organizations

San Francisco, CA, 11/01/2013 —

Javelin Logistics, a corporation headquartered in the East Bay of San Francisco California, is firmly committed to support of the company’s local community. Javelin believes it is important to give back in meaningful ways to enhance the area’s economic growth and vitality, and to the support of deserving local residents, particularly children and young adults. As a part of the corporation’s program for social responsibility, Javelin provides financial support to several locally based organizations, programs, and charities, including:

Diablo Regional Arts Association. The DRAA is the managing organization for the Lesher Center for the Arts. The LCA is a performance facility located in Walnut Creek, which plays host to almost 900 arts, music, and other productions and events every year. In addition to support of the LCA, the DRAA sponsors activities to provide disadvantaged children with the experience of arts and music, often for their first time.

Always Dream Foundation. The ADF was founded by skater Kristi Yamaguchi to help and inspire underserved children through programs advancing the cause of early childhood literacy. The ADF sponsors many events and innovative programs to engage families, schools, and local communities, with the goal of assisting children with reading and literacy in their critical early years.

California Symphony. In addition to being the premier and only nationally acclaimed orchestral symphony based in the East Bay, Cal Symphony is also passionately committed to supporting and developing musical talent in young people, and to improving literacy and education performance in school children through music. Cal Symphony sponsors multiple musical education programs, in particular their “Music in The Schools” and “Sound Minds” programs.

Cancer Support Community. As part of an international non-profit organization, CSC provides comprehensive services for cancer patients and their families.  Counseling, support groups, exercise, nutrition, mind/body and patient education programs are all available free of charge for people with any type of cancer, and they have special programs for children and teenagers whose parents are dealing with cancer.  Cancer Support Community’s main center is in Walnut Creek, and they also offer programs in medical centers and other community locations in the Bay Area.
